Centro Superior de Formación Europa Sur (CESUR) is a private VET centre as well as training for employment centre. As a VET center we have two kind of trainings: upper secondary education level (EQF level 4) and tertiary education level (EQF level 5). CESUR has been accredited by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Employment to provide official training in Vocational and Educational Training (VET) as well as Professional Certificates (EQF levels 1, 2 and 3).
Nowadays, CESUR is made of 17 reference VET centres due to its pedagogical proposal and educational quality. All centres are based in the most important Spanish cities: Madrid, Málaga, Sevilla, Zaragoza, Murcia, Cáceres, Badajoz, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
From an academic point of view (Ministry of Education), CESUR is accredited to provide a large catalogue of VET courses. More than 93 different degrees are offered belonging to the most requested industrial sectors: Aeronautics, Health, Sports, Financial and Management, Trade and Marketing, Tourism, Audiovisuals, Computing and ICT.
Those degrees are offered in three different modalities: under attendance (presence-based), online or dual system (work-linked training). The dual system is an innovative system Spain, in which training in school centre as well as in a real work environment in a business are combined. CESUR has brought the German model and has integrated it in the Spanish VET curriculum. This way, CESUR has become one of the pioneer VET centre implementing this dual methodology in Spain. Also, CESUR belongs to Fundación Bertelsmann (https://www.alianzafpdual.es/) which is Alliance that aims to promote the Dual VET System as an innovative and reference system. This Alliance is a Spanish network composed by companies, school centres and other organizations committed with the improvement of the employability of young people through the development of a high quality Dual VET system.
Thanks to the consultancy by the Alliance for the VET Dual system, we have designed the curriculum of our VET Dual programmes. This way, our expertise team has participated in the work team that is continuously adapting the VET degrees to the labour market requests. CESUR has 7000 students (from 16 to 25 years old) in an average per year.
From a professional point of view (Ministry of Employment), CESUR is an official centre accredited to teach more than 250 Professional Certificates in presence-based and online modality. The aim of these degrees is to provide lifelong learning to employed workers as well as to unemployed adults through different public funds calls managed by either the state government or by the regional ones. Beneficiaries of this kind of training are working age adults who are part of the labour force. According to some data extracted from the state call of 2016 that was implemented during 2018 and 2019, CESUR has trained a total of 20,251 adults (active workers and unemployed people).
Partnership with companies. Both degrees categories, which means, VET as well as professional certificates degrees, offer a theoretical and practical curriculum since they all include a period of internship in a company within the industry. Doing and passing the internship period with success is mandatory in order to get the official certification. Currently, CESUR counts with more than 400 partner companies that welcome our students as host organizations for their internships. All companies that we collaborate with are commited with CESUR and the educational quality. The list of companies can be checked in CESUR website (www.cesurformacion.com).
The companies commitment is even more significant and stronger when they collaborate as a part of our Dual VET methodology, since in this kind of training, the host company draw up a apprenticeship agreement with the student and also the student is paid by the company.
One of the main CESUR priorities through the years has been the modernization of the VET system. For this purpose, CESUR counts not only with the most advanced tools and technical materials, but also with a high qualified team of professionals in education and training. As a result of this pursuit for the continuous innovation, CESUR offers a large variety of training in the ICT sector. This is a reflection of the fact that VET must be an adapted training to the changing needs of the current labour market.
